ALFASIC-Honduras was legally registered by the Government as a non-profit organization on october 1993 and began to operate on 1994 with the support of Lakarmissionen Foundation and ALFALIT International.

OUR PROGRAMS

ALPHABETIZATION PROGRAM

Literacy classes are given in different places and in many communities , depending on who or which group takes the responsability in doing it. In other places, classes are given in churches, houses, schools, yields, communal centers or any other place. They don't have the minimun furniture required in most of the cases.

We have literacy classes for children, who can not go to school, because they have to help their parents in agricultural work or because there is no school in their communities.

Literacy Program for persons in yield

The prisoners of our yields are very happy because Alfasic Program have reached them. Many of them have learned to read or write and advancing to Basic Education. The Guards of those prisions also are taking classes to finish the Basic Education. They really appreciate the opportunity to study in the same center where they work.

BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM

This program is bigger than literacy program. It is because thousands of people left school without finishing it, and now, because of work demands, it is indispensable to have Diploma of 6th. grade, there are many people trying to continue studies until the graduated from adult elementary school.

When classes finished after six, seven or eigth months, the participants receive a certificate or diploma which shows that the person is graduated from Literacy Program or Elementary School. All the students are very happy when they receive this paper. They feel very important persons.

TEACHERS TRAINING

Training program for volunteers are given in every place: Churches, schools, houses, farmers organizations and so on. The interest for the program is increasing as soon it is known everywhere.
